How relieved I am to have water back! A new well was driven this morning and we're enjoying the flow once again.
I am grateful to have this basic necessity restored, but I am also very mindful of how precious a resource it is.
My good friend and fellow Midnight Ink author, Sue Ann Jaffarian (author of the ODELIA GREY mystery series), lives in California and just reminded me that the wild fires in CA are raging out of control. We need rain everywhere! The folks down South are facing a severe water shortage crisis as well.
When the well repair person told me to "open up the taps and let it clear out for a few minutes," it was hard to do because we have now grown accustomed to being so conservative. I hope I always remember how it feels to not have it.
